Cassadaga Valley Cougars (Sinclairville, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Frewsburg Bears (Frewsburg, NY), 10-7 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chautauqua Lake for a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus II West challenge on Thursday, April 27. Cassadaga Valley will battle a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to Randolph (Randolph, NY). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Frewsburg falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Bears host Maple Grove (Bemus Point, NY) to battle the Red Dragons in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus II West challenge on Thursday, April 27. The Red Dragons enter the challenge with a record of 2-6. Maple Grove lost 8-0 in their recent league challenge against Westfield (Westfield, NY)
