Danvers Falcons (Danvers, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Masconomet Regional Chieftains (Boxford, MA), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Falcons now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they host Bishop Fenwick for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. Danvers will battle a Crusaders squad coming off a 6-5 non-league loss to Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School (Hathorne, MA). The Crusaders record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Masconomet Regional falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Chieftains host Winthrop (Winthrop, MA) to battle the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 28. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. Winthrop won 9-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Salem Academy Charter (Salem, MA)
