Machias Bulldogs (Machias, ME) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Woodland Dragons (Baileyville, ME), 5-2 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shead for a Class D North challenge on Friday, April 28. Machias will face a Tigers squad coming off a 17-5 league loss to Jonesport-Beals (Jonesport, ME). The Tigers record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Woodland falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Dragons travel to Calais (Calais, ME) to face the Blue Devils in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 28. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Calais lost 18-1 in their recent league challenge against Narraguagus (Harrington, ME)
