The Mayfield Trojans baseball team scored 13 runs and limited the host Gadsden Panthers to 7 in the Trojans league victory on Friday.
The Trojans (11-12) will now prepare for their match against Organ Mountain (Las Cruces, NM). The Knights go into the 5A District 3 match with a 19-4 record. In their last match, Organ Mountain tipped Centennial (Las Cruces, NM), 9-4, in a league match.
The Panthers (6-17) will now prepare for their match against Alamogordo (Alamogordo, NM). The Tigers go into the 5A District 3 match with a 5-16 record. In their last match, Alamogordo was overwhelmed by Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM), 8-2, in a league match.
