Apponequet Regional Lakers (Lakeville, MA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Falcons (North Dighton, MA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Lakers now sport a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Old Rochester Regional for a South Coast challenge on Monday, April 29. Apponequet Regional will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 12-0 league loss to Somerset Berkley Regional (Somerset, MA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Dighton-Rehoboth Regional falls to 8-2 on the campaign. The Falcons host Greater New Bedford RVT (New Bedford, MA) to face the Bears in a South Coast challenge on Monday, April 29. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Greater New Bedford RVT lost 5-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Middleborough (Middleborough, MA)
