Avonworth Antelopes (Pittsburgh, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Burrell Bucs (Lower Burrell, PA), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Antelopes now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they host Shady Side Academy for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 29. Avonworth will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 16-1 non-league loss to Freeport (Freeport, PA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-9.

With the loss, Burrell falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Bucs host Deer Lakes (Russellton, PA) to face the Lancers in a WPIAL 3A 1 challenge on Monday, April 29. The Lancers enter the challenge with a record of 8-4. Deer Lakes lost 7-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Union Area (New Castle, PA)
