Leavitt Hornets (Turner, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Erskine Academy Eagles (South China, ME), 11-1 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gray-New Gloucester for a Class B South challenge on Monday, April 29. Leavitt will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 18-1 league loss to Freeport (Freeport, ME). The Patriots record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Erskine Academy falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Eagles host Lawrence (Fairfield, ME) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 29. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Lawrence lost 11-4 in their recent league challenge against Belfast (Belfast, ME)
