North Carolina High School Softball - West Bladen gets by Fairmont

The West Bladen Knights (Bladenboro, NC) softball nipped the host Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC), 9-8 in Friday's league bout.

The Knights (4-7) will now prepare for their bout against West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC). The Vikings go into the non-league bout with a 3-15 record. In their last bout, West Columbus was edged by Pender (Burgaw, NC), 11-1, in a league bout.

The Golden Tornadoes now possess a 4-15 record. They play next when they travel to Pender for a non-league bout on Monday, April 29. Fairmont will confront a Patriots squad coming off a 11-1 league win over West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 12-5.
