In Friday's non-league contest, the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Narrows Green Waves (Narrows, VA), by a margin of 5-0.

With the triumph, Giles moves its record to 7-6 on the year. The Spartans host George Wythe (Wytheville, VA) to play the Maroons in a Mountain Empire contest on Monday, April 29. The Maroons come into the contest with a record of 8-1. George Wythe lost 2-0 in their recent league contest against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA)

In their next game, the Green Waves play the Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, May 2. Narrows will attempt to move on its 0-10 season record.
