Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC), 13-3 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 14-4 record. They take the field next when they host Ashley for a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, April 30.

With the loss, Hoggard falls to 10-6 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to South Brunswick (Southport, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, April 30. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 17-4. South Brunswick won 2-0 in their recent league challenge against North Brunswick (Leland, NC)
