Saranac Redhawks (Saranac, MI) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Ionia Bulldogs (Ionia, MI), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Redhawks now sport a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they host Bath for a Central Michigan challenge on Monday, April 29.

With the loss, Ionia falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Charlotte (Charlotte, MI) to face the Orioles in a Capital Area - White challenge on Tuesday, April 30. The Orioles enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Charlotte lost 19-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Harper Creek (Battle Creek, MI)
