Meigs Marauders (Pomeroy, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Vinton County Vikings (McArthur, OH), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Marauders now own a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wellston for a Tri-Valley - Ohio challenge on Monday, April 29. Meigs will battle a Golden Rockets squad coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Hilliard Davidson (Hilliard, OH). The Golden Rockets record now stands at 16-2.

With the loss, Vinton County falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Vikings host River Valley (Bidwell, OH) to battle the Raiders in a Tri-Valley - Ohio challenge on Monday, April 29. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 5-7. River Valley won 15-1 in their recent league challenge against Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH)
