Northport Tigers (Northport, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Smithtown East Bulls (Smithtown, NY), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 7-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bay Shore for a Section 11 AA-2 challenge on Thursday, May 2. Northport will battle a Marauders squad coming off a 9-5 league win over Lindenhurst (Lindenhurst, NY). The Marauders record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Smithtown East falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Bulls travel to Lindenhurst (Lindenhurst, NY) to battle the Bulldogs in a Section 11 AA-1 challenge on Wednesday, May 8. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 3-8.
