In Saturday's non-league match, the host Ottawa Pirates softball team scored a tight 5-4 win over the Dunlap Eagles.
The Pirates (12-5) will now prepare for their match against Rochelle (Rochelle, IL). The Hubs come into the Interstate Eight match with a 5-13 record. In their last match, Rochelle nipped Lutheran (Rockford, IL), 15-0, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Eagles battle the Washington Panthers (Washington, IL) in a Mid-Illini match, on Monday, April 28. Dunlap will attempt to better on its 16-4 season record. The Panthers come into the match with a 14-1 record after their 10-3 league win over Canton (Canton, IL).
