The Gillespie Miners baseball team scored 19 runs and limited the host Carlinville Cavaliers to 2 in the Miners non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Miners (13-4) will now prepare for their match against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL). The Hiltoppers go into the South Central match with a 9-8 record. In their last match, Hillsboro ran past Nokomis (Nokomis, IL), 6-4, in a non-league match.

The Cavaliers (7-5) will now prepare for their match against Pana (Pana, IL). The Panthers go into the South Central match with a 6-10 record. In their last match, Pana was overwhelmed by Taylorville (Taylorville, IL), 5-0, in a non-league match.
