The North Mecklenburg Vikings smashed the visiting West Charlotte Lions soccer squad by a margin of 9-0 in Wednesday's league match.

The Vikings now sport a 12-6 record. They play next when they host Hough for a Queen City 3A/4A match on Tuesday, May 3.

With the loss, West Charlotte drops to 3-12 on the season. The Lions travel to Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC) to encounter the Mavericks in a Queen City 3A/4A match on Tuesday, May 3. The Mavericks come into the match with a record of 10-5. Mallard Creek won 11-0 in their recent league match against Chambers (Charlotte, NC)
