Bluestone Barons (Skipwith, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Nottoway Cougars (Nottoway, VA), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Barons now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Amelia County for a James River challenge on Thursday, April 28. Bluestone will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 14-4 league loss to Buckingham (Buckingham, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Nottoway falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host Cumberland (Cumberland, VA) to battle the Dukes in a James River challenge on Thursday, April 28. The Dukes enter the challenge with a record of 0-3.
