The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Cave Spring Knights (Roanoke, VA) and the host Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA), saw Cave Spring's softball squad nip Byrd by a count of 13-6.

The Knights now sport a 11-1 record. They take the field next when they host Christiansburg for a River Ridge match on Friday, April 29. Cave Spring will face a Blue Demons squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Salem (Salem, VA). The Blue Demons record now stands at 11-4.

With the loss, Byrd falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Terriers host Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA) to face the Cavaliers in a Blue Ridge match on Friday, April 29. The Cavaliers enter the match with a record of 9-2. Lord Botetourt lost 3-2 in their recent league match against Staunton River (Moneta, VA)
