Great Mills Hornets (Great Mills, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Stone Cougars (Waldorf, MD), 10-7 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 2-11 record. They take the field next when they host Chopticon for a Southern Maryland challenge on Friday, April 29. Great Mills will battle a Braves squad coming off a 5-0 league loss to Huntingtown (Huntingtown, MD). The Braves record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Stone falls to 1-10 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to La Plata (La Plata, MD) to battle the Warriors in a Southern Maryland challenge on Friday, April 29. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 11-1. La Plata won 14-1 in their recent league challenge against St. Charles (Waldorf, MD)
