Northmont Thunderbolts (Clayton, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Springboro Panthers (Springboro, OH), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Thunderbolts now own a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Miamisburg for a Greater Western Ohio challenge on Thursday, April 28. Northmont will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 9-2 league win over Beavercreek (Beavercreek, OH). The Vikings record now stands at 11-4.

With the loss, Springboro falls to 9-9 on the campaign. The Panthers host Wayne (Huber Heights, OH) to battle the Warriors in a Greater Western Ohio challenge on Thursday, April 28. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 5-10. Wayne lost 9-6 in their recent league challenge against Northmont (Clayton, OH)
