Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL), 5-2 in a league challenge.

Next, the Coalers face the Streator/Woodland Bulldogs (Streator, IL) in a Illinois Central Eight challenge, on Tuesday, May 2. Coal City will attempt to better on its 9-4 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Washington (Washington, IL).

The Comets now have a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they host Bishop McNamara for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. Reed-Custer will face a Fightin' Irish team coming off a 3-0 league loss to IC Catholic Prep (Elmhurst, IL). The Fightin' Irish record now stands at 9-4.
