Elyria Pioneers (Elyria, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Avon Lake Shoremen (Avon Lake, OH), 19-2 in a league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host Steele for a Southwestern challenge on Monday, May 1. Elyria will face a Comets squad coming off a 7-3 non-league loss to Canfield (Canfield, OH). The Comets record now stands at 12-5.

With the loss, Avon Lake falls to 0-15 on the campaign. The Shoremen travel to Solon (Solon, OH) to face the Comets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 29. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Solon won 4-0 in their recent league challenge against Medina (Medina, OH)
