Gloucester Dukes (Gloucester, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Denbigh Patriots (Newport News, VA), 16-2 in a league challenge.

The Dukes now sport a 11-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Menchville for a Peninsula challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Gloucester will face a Monarchs squad coming off a 15-1 league win over Heritage (Newport News, VA). The Monarchs record now stands at 12-1.

With the loss, Denbigh falls to 3-10 on the campaign. The Patriots host Hampton (Hampton, VA) to face the Crabbers in a Peninsula challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Crabbers enter the challenge with a record of 1-10.
