The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Freeport Yellowjackets (Freeport, PA) and the visiting Shady Side Academy Bulldogs (Pittsburgh, PA), saw Freeport's softball squad achieve victory over Shady Side Academy by a count of 18-8.

The Yellowjackets now sport a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Valley for a non-league match on Monday, May 1.

With the loss, Shady Side Academy falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Avonworth (Pittsburgh, PA) to face the Antelopes in a non-league match on Tuesday, May 2. The Antelopes enter the match with a record of 12-1. Avonworth won 14-4 in their recent league match against Deer Lakes (Russellton, PA)
