Fulton Steamers (Fulton, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Warren/Stockton Warhawks (Warren, IL), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Steamers now own a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Dubuque for a NUIC West challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Fulton will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 6-3 non-league loss to Platteville (Platteville, WI). The Warriors record now stands at 6-12.

With the loss, Warren/Stockton falls to 11-4 on the campaign. The Warhawks travel to Galena (Galena, IL) to battle the Pirates in a NUIC West challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 9-7. Galena won 8-6 in their recent league challenge against River Ridge/Scales Mound (Hanover, IL)
