Wilson Hall Barons (Sumter, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hammond Skyhawks (Columbia, SC), 7-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Barons now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Laurence Manning Academy for a SCISA AA Region III challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Wilson Hall will battle a Swampcats squad coming off a 12-3 league win over Trinity Collegiate (Darlington, SC). The Swampcats record now stands at 16-5.

With the loss, Hammond drops to 7-7 on the year. The Skyhawks travel to Calhoun Academy (St. Matthews, SC) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league contest on Friday, April 28. The Cavaliers come into the contest with a record of 7-3. Calhoun Academy won 5-3 in their recent league contest against Andrew Jackson Academy (Ehrhardt, SC)
