The crowd at Thursday's league match between the Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA) and the host Heritage Hurricanes (Newport News, VA), saw Menchville's softball squad achieve victory over Heritage by a count of 15-1.

The Monarchs now sport a 12-1 record. They take the field next when they host Gloucester for a Peninsula match on Tuesday, May 2. Menchville will face a Dukes squad coming off a 16-2 league win over Denbigh (Newport News, VA). The Dukes record now stands at 11-3.

With the loss, Heritage falls to 1-11 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Warwick (Newport News, VA) to face the Raiders in a Peninsula match on Tuesday, May 2. The Raiders enter the match with a record of 8-5. Warwick won 13-10 in their recent league match against Woodside (Newport News, VA)
