The Melba Mustangs (Melba, ID) softball nipped the visiting Wendell Trojans (Wendell, ID), 9-8 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Mustangs (3-9) will now prepare for their bout against Marsing (Marsing, ID). The Huskies go into the 2A Western Idaho bout with a 6-13 record. In their last bout, Marsing was edged by Wendell (Wendell, ID), 15-3, in a non-league bout.
The Trojans now possess a 10-10 record. They play next when they host Marsing for a non-league bout on Saturday, April 29. Wendell will confront a Huskies squad coming off a 10-2 league loss to New Plymouth (New Plymouth, ID). The Huskies record now stands at 6-12.
