Union City Bears (Union City, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Seneca Bobcats (Erie, PA), 4-3 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northwestern for a District 10 Region 3 challenge on Friday, April 28. Union City will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 14-2 league loss to Fort LeBoeuf (Waterford, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Seneca falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Mercyhurst Prep (Erie, PA) to battle the Lakers in a District 10 Region 3 challenge on Monday, May 1. The Lakers enter the challenge with a record of 0-7. Mercyhurst Prep lost 16-1 in their recent league challenge against North East (North East, PA)
