The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Athens Hornets (Athens, TX) and the host Pleasant Grove Hawks (Texarkana, TX), saw Athens's softball squad nip Pleasant Grove by a count of 6-5.

The Hornets now sport a 20-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Canton for a non-league match on Thursday, May 2. Athens will face a Eagles squad coming off a 11-0 non-league win over Ferris (Ferris, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 24-8.

With the loss, Pleasant Grove falls to 12-13 on the campaign.
