The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the El Campo Ricebirds (El Campo, TX) and the host Sweeny Bulldogs (Sweeny, TX), saw El Campo's softball squad nip Sweeny by a count of 7-2.

The Ricebirds now sport a 21-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fredericksburg for a non-league match on Saturday, May 4. El Campo will face a Billies squad coming off a 15-8 non-league win over La Vernia (La Vernia, TX). The Billies record now stands at 31-5.

With the loss, Sweeny falls to 7-10 on the campaign.
