Martin County Cardinals (Inez, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Grace Christian (Huntington, WV), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host Magoffin County for a District 57 challenge on Wednesday, May 1. Martin County will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 7-4 non-league loss to Knott County Central (Hindman, KY). The Hornets record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, Grace Christian falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The travel to Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 29. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 11-8.
