Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX), 11-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Diamondbacks now sport a 23-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Palmview for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 2. Pioneer will face a Lobos squad coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Gregory-Portland (Portland, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 25-7.

With the loss, Mercedes falls to 19-10 on the campaign.
