Kentucky High School Softball - Russell County bounces Southwestern

April 27, 2024: Somerset, KY 42503

Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Southwestern Warriors (Somerset, KY), 14-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Lakers now own a 14-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pulaski County for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 29. Russell County will battle a Maroons squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Wayne County (Monticello, KY). The Maroons record now stands at 17-4.

With the loss, Southwestern falls to 17-8 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Garrard County (Lancaster, KY) to battle the Golden Lions in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 29. The Golden Lions enter the challenge with a record of 9-12. Garrard County won 11-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Estill County (Irvine, KY)
