Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) supporters were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), 5-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Gryphons confront the Asheville Christian Academy Lions (Swannanoa, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, May 3. Thomas Jefferson will attempt to move on its 8-2 season record. The Lions enter the challenge with a 7-7 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, NC).

The Golden Lions now possess a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host Bessemer City for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, May 3.
