Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Albemarle Patriots (Charlottesville, VA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs confront the Wilson Memorial Green Hornets (Fishersville, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, April 29. Monticello will attempt to better on its 4-2 season record.

The Patriots now have a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they host Orange County for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 2. Albemarle will confront a Fighting Hornets team coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Charlottesville (Charlottesville, VA). The Fighting Hornets record now stands at 2-7.
