In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Cardinal Newman Cardinals soccer squad scored a close 6-1 triumph over the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights.
The Cardinals (9-4) will now prepare for their battle against Heathwood Hall Episcopal (Columbia, SC). The Highlanders come into the SCISA AAA Region I battle with a 6-4 record. In their last battle, Heathwood Hall Episcopal was overwhelmed by Cardinal Newman (Columbia, SC), 5-0, in a league battle.
