The North East Carolina Prep (Tarboro, NC) softball routed the host Bertie Falcons (Windsor, NC), 13-5 in Thursday's league bout.
The (2-7) will now prepare for their bout against Gates County (Gatesville, NC). The Red Barons go into the Four Rivers 1A bout with a 8-5 record. In their last bout, Gates County was routed by Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC), 17-2, in a non-league bout.
The Falcons now possess a 1-11 record. They play next when they travel to Riverside-Martin for a Four Rivers 1A bout on Friday, April 29. Bertie will confront a Knights squad coming off a 21-2 league win over Bertie (Windsor, NC). The Knights record now stands at 13-4.
