North Carolina High School Softball - Clayton nudges Garner

April 28, 2022: Clayton, NC 27520

The crowd at Thursday's league match between the Clayton Comets (Clayton, NC) and the visiting Garner Trojans (Garner, NC), saw Clayton's softball squad nip Garner by a count of 1-0.

The Comets now sport a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Willow Spring for a Greater Neuse River 4A match on Tuesday, May 3. Clayton will face a Storm squad coming off a 15-6 league win over Corinth Holders (Wendell, NC). The Storm record now stands at 13-6.

With the loss, Garner falls to 10-6 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to D.H. Conley (Greenville, NC) to face the Vikings in a non-league match on Friday, April 29. The Vikings enter the match with a record of 19-1. D.H. Conley won 14-0 in their recent league match against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC)
