Western Albemarle Warriors (Crozet, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Goochland Bulldogs (Goochland, VA), 8-2 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 3-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Charlottesville for a Jefferson challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Western Albemarle will battle a Black Knights squad coming off a 16-0 league loss to Orange County (Orange, VA). The Black Knights record now stands at 0-10.

With the loss, Goochland falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA) to battle the Flying Flucos in a Jefferson challenge on Monday, May 2. The Flying Flucos enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. Fluvanna County lost 4-3 in their recent league challenge against Louisa County (Mineral, VA)
