Lakeside Eagles (Nine Mile Falls, WA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Newport Grizzlies (Newport, WA), 17-0 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now sport a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Riverside for a 1A Northeast challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Lakeside will face a Rams squad coming off a 11-5 league loss to Deer Park (Deer Park, WA). The Rams record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Newport falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Grizzlies travel to Freeman (Rockford, WA) to face the Scotties in a 1A Northeast challenge on Thursday, May 5. The Scotties enter the challenge with a record of 9-4.
