Mineral County Serpents (Hawthorne, NV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Whittell Warriors (Zephyr Cove, NV), 20-1 in a league challenge.

The Serpents now own a 5-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Smith Valley for a 1A Northern challenge on Saturday, April 30. Mineral County will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 8-5 league loss to Coleville (Coleville, CA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-5.

With the loss, Whittell falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Warriors host Oasis Academy (Fallon, NV) to battle the Bighorns in a 1A Northern challenge on Friday, April 29. The Bighorns enter the challenge with a record of 13-2. Oasis Academy won 20-10 in their recent league challenge against Sierra Sage Academy/ROP (Yerington, NV)
