Hodgdon Hawks (Hodgdon, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Ashland Hornets (Ashland, ME), 8-1 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Wisdom for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 2.

With the loss, Ashland falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Central Aroostook (Mars Hill, ME) to face the Panthers in a Class D North challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Central Aroostook lost 11-9 in their recent league challenge against Katahdin (Sherman Station, ME)
