The Calumet New Tech Warriors softball team scored 24 runs and limited the visiting Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks to 1 in the Warriors non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Calumet New Tech moves its record to 2-7 on the year. The Warriors travel to River Forest (Hobart, IN) to clash with the Ingots in a Greater South Shore game on Tuesday, May 2. The Ingots come into the game with a record of 4-6. River Forest won 13-3 in their recent league game against Lake Station Edison (Lake Station, IN)

In their next game, the Hawks clash with the Hammond Morton Governors (Hammond, IN) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, May 2. Hammond Academy of Science & Tech will attempt to move on its 2-8 season record. The Governors come into the game with a 7-7 record after their 11-0 non-league loss to Highland (Highland, IN).
