Solvay Bearcats (Solvay, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Cortland Purple Tigers (Cortland, NY), 15-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Bearcats now sport a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they host Cazenovia for a Section 3 Liberty challenge on Monday, May 1. Solvay will face a Lakers squad coming off a 17-0 league loss to Westhill (Syracuse, NY). The Lakers record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Cortland falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Purple tigers travel to Fulton (Fulton, NY) to face the Red Raiders in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. The Red Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 2-4. Fulton lost 5-2 in their recent non-league challenge against South Jefferson (Adams, NY)
