Virginia High School Softball - Franklin County holds off Staunton River

The Franklin County Eagles the host Staunton River Golden Eagles softball squad by a final score of 7-5 in Friday's league battle.
The Eagles (10-3) will now prepare for their battle against Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA). The Knights go into the non-league battle with a 11-2 record. In their last battle, Cave Spring by Blacksburg (Blacksburg, VA), 14-9, in a league battle.
The Golden Eagles now possess a 12-3 record. They play next when they travel to William Byrd for a Blue Ridge battle on Tuesday, May 2. Staunton River will meet a Terriers squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA). The Terriers record now stands at 5-12.
