Grand Island Vikings (Grand Island, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Kenmore West Blue Devils (Buffalo, NY), 16-6 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host Niagara Falls for a Section 6 Niagara - Frontier challenge on Monday, May 1. Grand Island will face a Wolverines squad coming off a 7-2 non-league win over Mount St. Mary Academy (Kenmore, NY). The Wolverines record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Kenmore West falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Blue devils travel to Lockport (Lockport, NY) to face the Lions in a Section 6 Niagara - Frontier challenge on Monday, May 1. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Lockport lost 10-2 in their recent league challenge against Grand Island (Grand Island, NY)
