The Gary West Side Cougars baseball squad (Gary, IN), was overwhelmed 17-7 in Monday's league contest with the host East Chicago Central Cardinals (East Chicago, IN)

With the triumph, East Chicago Central moves its record to 5-6 on the season. The Cardinals host Hammond Morton (Hammond, IN) to confront the Governors in a Great Lakes contest on Friday, May 2. The Governors come into the contest with a record of 5-9. Hammond Morton lost 13-8 in their recent non-league contest against Lake Station Edison (Lake Station, IN)

The Cougars now possess a 0-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hammond Bishop Noll for a non-league contest on Thursday, May 1. Gary West Side will confront a Warriors squad coming off a 17-2 league win over Whiting (Whiting, IN). The Warriors record now stands at 8-6.
