Virginia High School Softball - Rye Cove held off by Castlewood

The Castlewood Blue Devils got by the visiting Rye Cove Eagles softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Monday's league challenge.

Next, the Blue Devils meet the J.I. Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA) in a Cumberland challenge, on Tuesday, April 29. Castlewood will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Black Raiders go into the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 3-2 league loss to Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA).

The Eagles (11-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Thomas Walker (Ewing, VA). The Pioneers go into the Cumberland challenge with a 0-8 record. In their last challenge, Thomas Walker was nudged by Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA), 14-0, in a league challenge.
