The Shelby Valley Wildcats triumphed over the host East Ridge Warriors softball squad by a count of 13-4 in Monday's league challenge.
Next, the Wildcats play the Tug Valley Panthers (Williamson, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, May 1. Shelby Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 7-12 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 17-9 record after their 13-0 league win over Van (Van, WV).
The Warriors (5-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Betsy Layne (Betsy Layne, KY). The Bobcats enter the non-league challenge with a 8-7 record. In their last challenge, Betsy Layne overcame Morgan County (West Liberty, KY), 6-5, in a non-league challenge.
